続いて BBC ニュースからの引用。ここでは its cohort of recruits で新米警察官・新人の意味で使われている。

BAME とは Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic の略語。英国の警察官の6.6%が黒人系あるいはアジア人系などの人種マイノリティであるという報道。
