結論: 直近の使われ方は、2019年オーストラリア総選挙において政権交代が予想されていた野党労働党の支持基盤である Queensland 州が与党保守連合の勝利に大きく寄与したことから、労働党支持者を中心に Queensland 州を残りのオーストラリアから切り離そうとする意見のこと。Brexit にかけている。

世論調査が予想を外すことは珍しくなくなってきている。トランプ現大統領にヒラリー候補が負けた米国大統領選挙、Brexit が可決された英国国民投票、そして今回のオーストラリア総選挙。
Twitter を見ていると一部の急進的な左派（あるいは環境派）の間では boomers 世代と millennial 世代の分断が色濃くなったように感じるし、実際に上記のような Quexit 運動が（半分冗談）とはいえ発生するのは好ましくないと思う。私は政治屋ではないのでこれ以上は書かない。
閑話休題。
実は Quexit が使われたのは今回が初めてではない。（当たり前だが）
少し例を追ってみたい。
用例①
まずは2016年5月にイギリスの大衆紙 dailymail で使われた Quexit から。これは今回のオーストラリア総選挙と同様に、予想外の候補が上院議席を獲得した際の反応。

The controversial far right politician and One Nation leader easily gathered enough votes to be elected after eight unsuccessful attempts, returning to politics proper for the first time since 1998. 他にも Quexit で検索すると以前に作られたフレーズも出てきた。今回の選挙でより分断が色濃くなっただけなのかもしれない。
