英英辞書的な意味を載せるのはあまり好きではないが、意外と面白かったので。

なるほど。辞書という意味と（それに載る）語彙という意味の両方がある。
いつも通り、実際の使われ方を見ていく。
用例①
まずは The Guardian の例から。 “late-term abortion” についての話。使い方としては、it’s become a part of our lexicon now で、そのまま覚えても良さそうな表現。
Similarly, the phrase “late-term” is misleading. A normal human gestation is 40 weeks. Medically speaking, “late-term” means 41-42 weeks. But anti-abortion activists twisted the phrase into a political construct understood to be any abortion after the 21st week, late in the second trimester. “Nobody is doing late-term abortions – it doesn’t happen,” said Gunter of the medical definition. “But it’s become a part of our lexicon now.”
用例②
次は The Guardian の少し長い記事。アフリカにおける白人を題材にしたもの。ここではthe word XXX enter my lexicon という表現。これもそのまま使えそう。
The word “passing” entered my lexicon in the early days of 1999, when I was eight years old.
用例③
最後に Washington Post からin the XXX lexicon という用例。使い勝手が良さそう。
In “Adventures in the Screen Trade,” with its gossipy behind-the-scenes look at the caprice of art and commerce, Mr. Goldman coined an enduring phrase in the Hollywood lexicon: “Nobody knows anything.”
